Teen Pregnancy

The media today give teenage girls like us a wrong, unrealistic view of teen pregnancy. It can seem manageable, fulfilling, or even glamorous. But in reality, you CAN get pregnant by having sex once, may want to drop out of school (or have to), may want to get an abortion, and WILL change your body for the long term. Do you really want to risk that? Why not wait (see title link)? Just be abstinent until you are truly ready, and you'll stay healthy and won't have regrets.

Brown

I love playing up my dark hair. For a rich brunette look, use texturizer to emphasize depth and dimension to get some piecey, incredibly pretty bounce (see title link). A cute ring doesn't hurt, either, especially from

This Wet Seal Top is great for a Casual Friday night. Formerly $15.50, the Umbrella Love Tee is on sale for just $10.99 (see title link). Features include a v-neck, hearts, and flowers.

Expand your horizons

I was going to make this post about some cool Forever 21 earrings (see title link), but I figured I'd talk about a more pressing issue: in this season of graduations and new beginnings, it's easy to think that you'll never find the same kind of guys that you had in high school. But the world is a whole lot bigger, and now you're opening yourself up to a million new guys. Chances are, you'll find someone who fits your high standards :).

Tropical style

At this time of the year, I like to fast forward with my style and pretend it's summer already. I start with a pretty dress, like this $375 Sara Maxi by Rachel Gilbert (see title link). The makeup is the key icing to the cake for the island glow. Start with some purple liner and smudge it to look more understated. Apply some gold eyeshadow into your inner corners and on your cheeks. If you use some Vaseline, you can even use it as a lip gloss!

That's flat

Mary Jane flats are so perfect for spring! I found these $45 Scrabble Flats from Restricted Footwear and stayed comfy all day, from work in the morning to a walk with my friends, dinner, and late-night gab-fests (see title link)! They're just so whimsical and playful without compromising in feminity. The sole is manmade.

Chic[co]

This is such a unique, cool necklace from Smith by Zoe Chicco (see title link). At $130, the black leather and gold chains necklace is oozing bling, with the studs and plated spike charm. Super edgy and modern at the same time.

Chick Flick

Want a fun night in with your best girlfriends? I recommend watching Love Actually (see title link). It's packed with celebrities to gossip about, is totally cheesy and romantic, and pretty much one of the best chick flicks ever. The music is good, too, and it happens to be Taylor Swift's favorite movie; the star calls it "a huge quilt of stories."

Interns

Want a job this summer? Find an internship...those fashion internships may not be all glitz and glamour depending on your boss, but they sure are amazing experiences (see title link)!

Flirt advice

Want to be cute, not creepy? If you want to drop by, don't surprise him at his house (see title link). He'll think you're a stalker!

Overweight hurts

You may think being obese is harmless for now, but it's actually hurting you harder than you know. The lack of energy should be obvious (see title link): your body has to work faster to keep you going, from your lungs breathing while you're climbing stairs to your heart pumping blood. If you're worn out, do something about it and get healthy!

Exercise!

Harley Pasternak is a personal trainer to Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, but you can use his tips for yourself, too (see title link)! So do some cardio today!

Tan the right way

According to Whitney Port (shown here at the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's launch in October), Comodynes Self-Tanning Towelettes are her favorite for face, since they create a perfectly even tone. The California native sure knows what she's talking about in the Big Apple. Although $13.99 for a pack of 8 (see title link), they work well.

Practice Safe Sun

Clinique Sun with SolarSmart makes it totally sexy to be safe from those harmful UVA (age skin) and UVB (burn skin) rays. Your skin will look healthy today, but even more importantly, tomorrow. It doesn't seem important at our age, but we'll thank ourselves for it later. No more signs of visible aging or irritation. So be safe (see title link).

Clarify

Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion is great, especially for very dry skin like mine (type 1). It blocks blemishes, controls oil, and refines pores. Those dead skin flakes disappear and keep your face out of trouble. Shine is GONE (see title link) and your skin is moisturized for just $11.50.

5 Gum

Wrigley 5 Gum in Cobalt is amazing! It definitely stimulates your senses (see title link).

Always

I love Always Infinity Regular. It's so perfect to stash in your purse discreetly on a fun night (like prom, for example). The super thin infinicel material holds up to 10x its own weight, and the wings keep you protected. The microdots absorb so efficiently that you feel dry, and you'll forget you're even wearing a pad (see title link).

Embrace it

Want a closer shave than ever? Venus Embrace has 5 blades. That's 5 times the glide enhancers to give you the smoothest shave possible in just one stroke. It'll hug your curves with its pivoting head, has a protective moisture ribbon and SoftGrip handle, and ease of disposal (see title link). Your skin will look absolutely divine.

Aero!

I just love Aeropostale. Their clothes are cost-friendly and cute at the same time. The store is definitely my first stop for basics like this $15 denim skirt (see title link).

Side Effects

Many people sing the praises of prescription acne medications. Take Epiduo, for example. Looks like a great solution for those with severe acne, right? Well, it's doctor-prescribed for a reason, indicating some serious possibilities of adverse reactions. With Epiduo Gel, that includes erythema, scaling, dryness, stinging, and burning, along with dry skin, contact dermatitis, application site burning, application site irritation, and skin irritation. Do you even know what some of those terms are (see title link)? Find out from Galderma Laboratories before you buy.

Grow

No, this isn't just ordinary nail polish. It's a growth formula that makes your nails healthier and look more beautiful naturally. Sally Hansen's Continuous Treatment Growth Formula hydrates your nails using its Blue Algae formula for 10 days, and the treatment really revitalizes and fortifies those cuticles. The vitamins will nourish them like no other (see title link).

Sneaks

Here's a funky pair of sneakers I found on the Piperlime web site. It's the Bensimon Tennis Lacet in Gris Moyen (English: Medium Gray). The $55 Earth Friendly shoe is unlined but features a padded footbed, rubber cap and outsole, and can even be worn without the laces. Totally washable with it's 100% cotton canvas material (see title link).

Prom perfect

If you want to help yourself get perfect skin by prom, try out Clean & Clear Finishes Pore Perfecting Cleanser. It's oil-free and really unclogs those pores of dirt. It even gives your face a smooth finish to bring out your inner beauty (see title link)!

Take a Journey with Converse

I was at Journeys the other day to escape studying for exams, and I came across this Chuck Taylor All Star Print Sneaker. It's the Converse Lo Emo Dog Athletic Shoe in White and is just $49.99 (see title link), although I remember a time not too long ago when Converses were just $30. Amazing how these shoes are still cool after all these years. They've updated without changing and still have a great fan following. The canvas upper is classic.

Share your thoughts

If you want to make your opinion heard, you have to actually send it in (see title link). Write emails to newspapers, magazines, TV stations! Whether it's about serious issues important to your life or fashion mistakes of mixing prints, just put yourself out there!

Short and Simple

For a cool, effortless look this spring, try the American Rag Strapless Denim Tube Shirt Dress, costing just $49 at Macy's (see title link). They advertise sweet, but that's not exactly what I would call it. Still, it could go for a nautical look that's pretty hot. The straight neckline is great, as are the two chest buttoned flat pockets and smocked waistband. It closes by side zipper so it's pretty discreet. Beware of the fact that it's unlined, though!

Shineblast

Want to have sculpted and defined lips? Get some shimmer with CoverGirl's new ShineBlast Lip Gloss. It reflects light and has a new ShineSculpt applicator which literally glides along the form of your lips. It promises 4x more shine (see title link).

Compact

Check out this IndividualEyes Custom Compact I found at Target (see title link). It's from N.Y.C. New York Color and costs just $4.59, fitting all your makeup needs!

I think horoscopes are silly...mine are either so generic that they can always be true or never true (see title link)!

Cougar

Is your mom a cougar? Does she date younger men (see title link)?

Swirly Curls

Revlon Nano-Ceramic 3/4" Curling Iron is such a cheap tool to use for a party look. Just wrap one-inch pieces of your hair around the barrel to curl it, and voila! $14 for a party look (see title link). The ceramic quality gives it a barrel that's easy-to-clean and high, steady heat, which actually affects follicles faster and helps them sustain their moisture. The push buttons provide precision control, and there are even temperature sensors to keep the iron at the right level for styling.
It shuts off automatically, so no potential hazards,
has a ready light, and comes with a tangle-free swivel cord and safety stand. Oh, and did I mention it's worldwide dual voltage?
