Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

There's this adorable belt I found from Hyde. It's black with white accents that form a bow in the middle and it's made to fit at your stomach, not around your waist. Super cute (see title link)!

Rihanna's style

I love this tuxedo on Rihanna. The Dolce & Gabbana design is absolutely fabulous, and she pulls it off so boldly, shown here at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala in New York City. If you've got the cash, get one yourself (see title link)!

Soda!

I love these Joop boots from Soda (in Tan, not Berry, as shown). They're cute knee-highs with unique kitten stacked heels to keep you comfortable and supported. The 2 buckles are nice and oversized, giving the look a modern touch. Get them now (see title link!)

Speak out against domestic violence

A worthy cause supported by an inspiring woman. Reese Witherspoon is endorsing the Empowerment Bracelet, a $3 piece from Avon which aims to help women suffering from domestic abuse feel empowered. It's the brand's first global charity product, and hopes to improve ladies' lives across the world. According to the brand ambassador, "The first $500,000 from bracelet sales will be matched by the Avon Foundation for a total donation of $1 million to UNIFEM, the United Nations Development Fund for Women." With its silvertone infinity symbol and blue stretch cord, it'll fit just about anybody, and 100% of its proceeds go to the Avon Empowerment Fund. It really is all good (see title link).

Beyonce Couture

Beyonce is often Sasha Fierce, her alter ego, in concert, but she's a superstar no matter where she is. Check out her style from her LA concert this summer, where she dazzles in Thierry Mugler. He emerged from retirement to design her tour fashion! Now THAT screams diva!

Hanes to the red carpet

Miley Cyrus is by no means one of my favorite people, but I applaud her effort to exude an affordable image at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards in LA. Miley strutted her stuff wearing a simple $6 Hanes Tank (see title link). I adore the Hanes Women's Authentic TAGLESS Stretch Cotton Tank Top. It's boyish edgy yet fits girly curves with the fine ribbing and shapelier silhouette. Keeps you cool in the summer, feels soft on your skin, and the ribbed binding trims the neck and armholes. You'll look so sleek that you'll be wondering why YOU'RE not on the red carp

Star-ring

Yup, I'm actually talking about a star Ring. Like this Sterling Silver Double 2 Star CZ Ring from Kit's Jewelry & Perfect Presents! For just $39.99 you get a beautiful piece of jewelry that comes in sizes 5-9 (see title link). I've even seen a similar one on Miley Cyrus' hand.

Stars of Style

Seventeen magazine rated the 17 style stars of 2009 in this month's issue. Miley Cyrus was front and center (see title link). Not sure what they see in her, but she IS 17.

Tampax Pearl

I'm not one to encourage tampon use, but I've heard these are the best in the industry. Tampax Pearl Regular Unscented include all the basics: a smooth plastic applicator and rounded tip for comfortable insertion, contoured Anti-Slip Grip to make the applicator easy to hold and position, width-wise expansion to fit your unique form, an absorbent Built-in Backup® Braid to help protect against unexpected leaks, and discreet and durable wrapper with easy-to-open tabs. Barring all the risks, you might as well get the best (see title link) for $4.99. For regular flow and absorbency.

Party must-have?

I LOVE this Incredibly Dash Clutch from Urban Expressions. For just $38 (see title link), you've got a simple but totally glamorous accessory for your outfit. By New Year's Eve, you'll be the talk of the evening. The Purple shade is simply regal. It's made of synthetic leather, so animal lovers need not stay away. The twistlock and buttoned closure made of gold tone keeps your belongings safe, and the interior features two open pockets AND a zipper pocket. What more do you need?

Flirty underwear?

Flirtitude is a great brand available at JCPenney. It sells underwear for teen girls. This Cotton Lycra Lace Bikini will make you feel comfortable and hot at the same time. Turn the flirt all the way up, especially in the Red White Big Dot shade (left). Although it's normally priced at $7.50, it's on sale right now for just $5.25 (see title link). What a steal!

Celebrity Designers

The Jessica Simpson Collection is a great brand, especially for handbags. Jessica Simpson is a style star and it shows in her designs (see title link).

Thursday, December 17, 2009

Sparkle!

Sparkly halter vests are great for such a dreary, icy season (see title link). Glam out your wardrobe!

Layered look

This BCX Dress is a beautiful Two Tone style from Macy's. The layered look dress with studded belt is just $24.99 right now, on sale from its original $49 price (see title link). It really is, like the website says, a fusion of bubble-gum-pop and rock-and-roll. The belt is at the natural waist and the fuschia skirt is as full as possible. Perfect for a holiday party!

Classy and Classic

XOXO Jeans are known for being hot, but the Skinny Tuxedo model takes the top spot (a little rap I just tried to make!). They can look classy-formal because of their satin waistband, but the rhinestone studs all over can make them a total denim classic. Plus, thanks to a sale at Macy's for one day only, they cost just $29.99 instead of the usual $49 (see title link). What are you waiting for?

Monday, December 14, 2009

Converse

The Converse All Star Lo Rainbow Dogs in Black is one of the most unique pairs of sneakers I've ever seen at Journeys (see title link)! The canvas upper adds quality icing to the cake. Just $49.99 online!

Tights

Good thing tights are in this season. They're such a cheap alternative to pants that you're wallet will be overflowing with extra money this winter! These tights from Hue, called the Opaque Tight model in the Basic Color of Black, is an upscale variety, and even then, costs just $12.50, or even 2 for $20 if you buy them in doubles (see title link)!

Sunday, December 13, 2009

Basic Black

I found a cute shirt from Lulu's that is only available online (see title link). You can use this $19 black tee for just about any occasion, from school to a party to wherever else life takes you. Basic black is perfect!

Glammin' it up...

Add bling to your Friday night-out look by adding this Luxuriant Bracelet Set from Forever 21 stores (see title link). These bracelets come in a set of seven and cost just $6.80. The faux pearl and rhinestone combination look absolutely gorgeous, and the elasticity is convenient for all sizes. Check it out!

Saturday, December 12, 2009

Fox

Fox is an amazing brand of clothing that provides glamorous, celebrity-style clothing at a semi-affordable price (see title link). If you want to do some splurging for the holidays and don't want to break your bank, try them out!

Thursday, December 10, 2009

Wii

The We Cheer 2 Game from Wii is great for kids and tweens. Rated E for Everyone 10+, it lets up to 4 players perform to 30 songs, build their own squads, and customize their uniforms (and even accessorize! omg). From Bandai Namco Games, it's sure to be a hit. So show your team spirit by joining the squad (see title link)!

Lips for Charity

Yes to Carrots Delicious by Day Kit is a $13 gift available at Target and a 4-pc. Lip Set which gives to charity. An unknown percentage of the proceeds are donated to the Yes to Carrots Seed Fund, which benefits organic gardening in disadvantaged communities (see title link). Out of these 4 lip glosses, I personally like the C Me Blush Cotton Candy Lip Tint (third from left). Used for Normal Skin, it's Paraben-Free.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Portable Nail Polish?

Nic's Sticks Paint & Go Nail Lacquer from Nicole by OPI is a great on-the-go method of doing your nails. The EXPRESS-ion of Love shade (shown at left) is perfect for a hot night on the town. Kristi Yamaguchi endorses them, so check 'em out (see title link)!

Monday, December 7, 2009

UGG for kids!

Mini-sized UGGs are the cutest. That's why UGG Australia 'Classic Short' Boot is a perfect holiday gift (especially in the Toddler size, which fits kids 2-4 years old!). The boots are lined with genuine sheepskin to keep moisture away and leaving kids walking comfortably. The shoe is absolutely adorable in Black. It has a suede upper and EVA sole. For $89.95, you'll have the perfect present for the winter (see title link) so get to Nordstrom and pick up a pair!

Cleansing is the first step...

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in mild for dry combination skin is the first step in Clinique's 3-Step Skin Care System. Without stripping those protective lipids from your skin, it prepares it for exfoliation with an easy transition. The pump is so convenient; it never dispenses too much or too little. Buy it for just $15 (see title link).

Sunday, December 6, 2009

Urbanog

Check out these cute earrings from Urbanog (see title link). They're sparkly and really pop in your ears...I like the pink variety best.

Saturday, December 5, 2009

My Life. My World. My Decree.

A budget-friendly way of getting cute jeans from department stores. This Decree Shredded Jean was $24.99 when I first found it (right now it's $29.99 online). These skinnies are chic without being too tight, and there's the standard five pockets, fly front, and decorative stitching on the back two. They're faded, they're ripped, they're hopelessly cool (see title link). Check out the Shredded Slim Fit Jean now at JCPenney!

Friday, December 4, 2009

Move over, Abercrombie...

Everyone's always raving about those Abercrombie models. At the risk of sounding ridiculous, has anyone checked out the Southpole ad campaigns? They hold a contest each year to model for them, and last year's male winner, Yansen, is HOT (see title link).

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Nike

Delicious Training? What a great catchphrase. Nike is at its best with its line focused on women (see title link). Check it out!

Free-Falling

Everyone has had a traumarama...one girl shared her story: at her boyfriend's house, she tried to recreate the Twilight scene between Edward and Bella and in the tree and fell down, landing on her arm and having to be taken to the hospital for X-Rays. THAT's embarrassing (see title link).

Guns

Did you know that a serious issue in the United States is female gun control? We always percieve guys with violence and shooting, but now girls are following the trend. Some believe that it makes them feel powerful and strong; in fact, 45% of Seventeen magazine readers who took a poll (see title link) had shot a gun before. Scary, huh?

M.J. Soffe

What a great tank. The Boy Beater from M.J. Soffe is an affordable $10 way to work out safely. In the Kool Kiwi (Code 307) shade, you'll look bright and stand out when you go jogging to avoid getting run over. It's a rib knit jersey, 100% cotton, and has a nice long length (no riding up!). What's not to like (see title link)?

Saturday, November 28, 2009

Flirtexting?

Even your texts say a lot about you, unfortunately. Instead of the old-fashioned phone calls and actually listening to a voice, we interpret people's thoughts through text messages. I personally don't text at all, but there's definitely a lot of action going on with that particular tool (see title link). So make sure to pay attention to your wording next time you're flirtexting your crush (or your not-crush)!

Juicy Couture

Want to splurge a little for the holidays? Try Couture Couture by Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum, which smells like honeysuckle and plum. Delicious! Priced at $65 for 1.7 oz. at Nordstrom (see title link), this sparkling flacon also contains pink grape and orange flower, along with mandarin and creamy sandalwood. It promises not to disappoint.

Body Peace

Can you believe that even Kim Kardashian has had confidence issues? Her curvier chest forced her to pray to God nightly for them to "stop growing" and she would even wear two sports bras to flatten them! But her sham disappeared when she realized that being comfortable in her own skin was all that mattered, whatever you size, and just because you're you. Obviously, Kim rocks her curves today. So now it's time to embrace your body (see title link)!

DKNY Jeans

This DKNY Jeans Boyfriend Blazer is such a trendy way to be professional and sophisticated. It's loose-fitting in the hottest way, and there's a notched lapel and button closure with a cute little side zipper. There are convenient flap pockets as well. At 29 inches long, it's sure to make a style statement. Plus, the $118 piece is on sale online right now for just $55.99 (see title link) but also available at Macy's if you want to go in-store. Get it quick!

Sonia Kashuk

Sonia Kashuk Velvety Shine Lip Crayon in Pale Pink gives your face a high-end look with just $8. Target is a great place to shop for apparel and accessories, so why not buy your makeup there as well? With Sonia Kashuk, it's hard to lose (see title link)!

Demi + Twilight

Did you know Demi Lovato adores the Twilight series? She dreams of playing a character from the stories one day, especially because of the forbidden romance between Bella and Edward and their eventual triumph (see title link). Cute, huh?
(I promise, this is my last Twilight post).

Taylor

Everyone loves Taylor, don't they? Even Seventeen magazine, the ultimate teen periodical filled with representations of empowered women, added a glossy poster of the star in this month's issue (see title link). Taylor mania, anyone?

Saturday, November 21, 2009

Robert Pattinson

Another foray into Twilight madness...Robert Pattinson's dry sense of humor has been broadcast for the world to see these days, from sarcastically telling a fan to take her clothes off (which she did, before being escorted out by security) to confessing he was involved in a drug bust to make a statement for all the tabloid rumors and their ridiculousness. Read another interview with Pattinson's jokes (see title link).

New Moon

I'm jumping on the New Moon bandwagon...never saw the first movie or read the trilogy, but for the sake of blog publicity, I'm putting it out here. There's tons of behind-the-scenes details to find online if you're an obsessed one...I'm told there are even some Taylor Lautner posters floating around...hmm (see title link)!

Style Mix Tour

Want to take a trip to Annapolis, Maryland? The Westfield Annapolis was a great stop for the Seventeen Style Mix Tour, which hunts for girls to "get discovered" as models, features performances by Nina Sky, provides Garnier Fructis makeovers, a Jenni lounge, a Miss Dior Cherie fragrance bar, and tons of free stuff, among other things (see title link). It was on Saturday, October 17 from 2-4 PM...don't miss the next one!

Obsess?

Did you know that guys totally obsess over you when they have a crush on you? They just don't show it...Aaron, a 16-year-old from Harrisburg, North Carolina told Seventeen magazine that his "stomach is in knots" and "his brain turns to jelly"...he even checks her Facebook profile every few days just to make sure "she's still single"! He also hopes "every day she'll acknowledge" that he even exists (see title link). Cute? Pitiful? Creepy? You decide. Leave a comment with your thoughts!

Depression no-nos

The one thing I do when I feel sad or depressed is overeat. Ice cream sundaes, Oreos, all the stuff that's horrible for me. And while you may think those kinds of foods will drown your sorrows, they actually make you feel bloated and maybe even WORSE. Instead, do the opposite and burn calories by exercising...go for a jog or just work out your own way. You'll release tons of endorphins and actually feel better, even if it is just for a little while (see title link).

Hips Don't Lie?

If there's one person to admire in Hollywood because of her toned body, it's Shakira. That woman has natural beauty and her curves aren't made by a computer (at least in some pictures, where she STILL looks fabulous!). But to achieve that fitness level, you need to work out. So get some tips from Shakira's trainer, Tracy Anderson (see title link), and you can climb your way to the top.

E.l.f.

When was the last time you could buy $1 makeup? I don't remember...but E.l.f. lets you do it NOW (see title link). Their All Over Color Stick is a 3 in 1 (eyes, lips, face). Your face will be illuminated with a healthy glow, and your skin will be left soothed and conditioned, keeping it fresh and natural-looking for hours. Try the Lilac Petal shade shown at left.

Saturday, November 14, 2009

Milani

Want smoky blue eyes without the high budget? For just $6, try Milani Runway Eyes Eye Shadow. The Blue Lagoon shade (see top left) gives you that perfect out-on-the-town, fierce look, especially if you smudge it into your creases. Midnight-blue shadow is always a hit (see title link)!

Designer Imposters

Want to smell expensive without actually splurging? Try Designer Imposters...their Swept Away scent smells exactly like Victoria's Secret Love Spell. Except this one is just $3.59 (see title link). It's a fruity floral fragrance with orange, ruby red grapefruit, berries, peach, cherry blossoms, jasmine, and musk ingredients.

E.l.f.

E.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow in the Golden variety is a great complement to bronze skin tones! For just $3, you'll match your skin to make the look feel natural, but the sheen will spice it up and make you light up a room! The shades are translucent and contain Vitamins A & B, helping to hydrate you and minimize the appearance of fine lines. You can wear them wet OR dry and they're so easy to apply and blend. Your lids will look absolutely flawless! There are no parabens, preservatives, or chemical dyes. So check it out online (see title link)!

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Flair4All

Want to be a DIY interior designer? Check out flair4all, a website that sells wall decals (all removable) for just $20. There are hundreds of designs to choose from. The one show at right is in the Flowers category and is called Poppy Pow in the Vibrance color combination (see title link). Check out those delicate stems! Each is separate, so you can make an arrangement or put them up all over your room! Oh, AND they're rearrangeable. Personalization time! You get three sheets per flair pack which are 12" x 17".

BB Dakota

BB Dakota has a great skirt (see title link) for $60. It has some amazing contrast piping that makes your middle look tiny because the trip dips down in the front.

DKNY Tights

What a hot pair of tights from DKNY Tights! They're extra-long in terms of inseam, great for tall girls because they won't keep slipping down due to short length. They're $14 at Bloomingdale's, but you can buy them from DKNY online, too (see title link). The Opaque Coverage Control Top Tight in Blue Violet is just so vibrant. The waistband is soft and comfortable, and gives you shapely curves from waist to toe and in turn maximum support.

Secret Weapons by Annette

A pricey bra from Secret Weapons by Annette (see title link). I found it for $42 on sale, but the price online is now at $60. This seamless wire bra with removable cups has a great wide band at the bottom that gives you extra support without all that underwire that binds tight. It's invisible, too (the wire, I mean). The smooth one-piece Santoni construction and lightly-lined cups, along with the stretchy straps make it tailored just for you. What more could you want?

Saturday, November 7, 2009

Decree

Check out this red crewneck thermal I found from Decree for JCPenney (see title link). Perfect basic for winter!

Friday, November 6, 2009

Bring it with you overnight if you'd like (see title link)!

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Seventeen?

Check out this month's issue of Seventeen magazine (see title link). Tons of healthy tricks since it's called "The Body Issue" and Kristen Stewart as the cover girl!

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

XOXO

Nope, not Gossip Girl here. I'm talking about the fashion brand XOXO, which designed this cute LBD. We all need one, and this mini spices up the classic. It's a one-shoulder ruched dress with zipper trimmed ruffle, available in the Juniors' department at Macy's (see title link). Although it's regularly priced at $69, it's currently on sale for $50.99 online! With the close fit, sparkling and girly flutter sleeve which drapes into a ruffle, and sequin trim, along with the molded bust, ruched side seams, and the shirring at the center back, what's not to love? Plus, with its pullover design, there's no complicated buttons or zippers to worry about. Just throw it on (literally) and go!

Sally Brompton

Do you believe in astrology? I don't, but for those who do, read your daily horoscope according to your sign (see title link)! I'm a Scorpio...

Zune

What's cooler than an iPod? An energy-efficient mp3 player! Here's Zune HD, from Zune. For $220, you get a 16 GB product (see title link) that gives you music, videos, pictures, HD radio (tag the songs you like to buy later!), a marketplace, a social outlet, and more! What's NOT to love?

Just Yell Fire

Buy this Avon Empowerment Bracelet for just $3 (see title link). Reese Witherspoon endorses this campaign (shown at left) called Avon's Speak Out Against Domestic Violence. The net proceeds of $2.25 from the sale will help end violence against other women. And you get a pretty piece of jewelry. What's not to love?

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Talk!

If a guy looks fun, seriously, what reason do you have not to talk to him? Shy people always finish last when it comes to scoring social connections. You don't want to be too bold, of course, but take 20-year-old Pauline's advice in this month's issue of Seventeen (see title link)!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Instant Mani!?

Thanks to new pen-style applicators for nail polish, you can give your nails some color with a few simple swipes in just 3 minutes! They even dry super-fast (see title link).

Cheap and Chic?

Nope, not talking about the Moschino line. Miley Cyrus & Max Azria have teamed up to create a line of juniors' apparel for Walmart, all for under $20. This t-shirt I found is great for comfy use outside (see title link). For just $7, you get a cute tee that is under $10! What could be better?

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Erickson Beamon

There's a hot Erickson Beamon black webbed rhinestone belt that I found (see title link). He's pretty high-end, but hey, it never hurts to look, right? Especially at accessories...

Moschino

Want some luxe in your wardrobe? Check out this belt from Moschino. For a splurge-worthy price, you've got an accessory that SCREAMS bling (see title link)! Red belts are hot!

Whitney Port

I've only watched one full episode of The Hills (yes, I'll admit I've watched it) and loved Whitney Port. She's the only one who seems genuine, as if she isn't acting for the cameras. Sure, she might have her own show for MTV now following her around (The City), but she has a college degree from USC and seems smart and ambitious, two qualities that every girl should strive for (see title link).

Monday, October 26, 2009

Drink? No, thanks.

FYI: Not everyone in college drinks. Most do, obviously, but you're not a weirdo if you choose to stay sober. It's just important to find the right people who are like you. Some guys (the ones who are mature to begin with) even appreciate that and might start drinking less when they're around you. You'll be a good influence, have an awesome time flirting, and even remember it all the next morning (see title link). What could be better than saying "No, thanks."?

Seventeen's Ultimate Guide to College

Want to know all about college before getting there? Check out Seventeen's ultimate guide to college, compiled by the magazine's summer interns (see title link). Take it from me, you can't imagine it till you're really there, but it's definitely a start!

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Single?

Does being single make you feel left out because most of your friends have boyfriends? If so, you're only lonely; that's NOT a reason to frantically search for a boyfriend. Your time will come when it's supposed to (see title link).

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Save the Ta-Tas

Cute tee, huh? Well, it costs a pricey $25.95, but proceeds go to breast cancer foundations--although beware, it does not specify the foundation or the percentage of profit donated.. The Seventeen Magazine Respect Protect Tee is a cute, colorful basic to keep for fall and to make a statement (see title link).

Tampax Pearl

Serena Williams is the new face of Tampax Pearl. That ought to give the brand more power. Tampax Pearl Regular Scented features a smooth applicator and rounded tip for comfortable insertion. The contoured Anti-Slip Grip, width-wise expansion, Built-in Backup Braid, and even discreet and durable wrapper with easy-to-open tabs make it a good product, I'm told, along with its LeakGuard protection (see title link). For $4.99, it's all yours.

Monday, October 19, 2009

Paul Mitchell

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo is an upscale product for a natural, deep cleansing of hair. This invigorating cleanser purifies your hair with its concoction of tea tree oil, giving your hair that beautiful aesthetic luster as well. The tingly sensation is the best; your hair feels cool and refreshed, literally! The additional peppermint and lavender make sure it smells good, too, so you're covered on all fronts! What more could you want (see title link)?

Murad

Murad Clarifying Mask is a perfect sulfur mask to help to lessen that inflammation on your face when you get that surprise zit, or even if you've had that zit for ages. My skin looks so clear because of it because it is natural and clay-based. It's designed to bring out your skin's impurities to absorbe pore-clogging dirt and oil. Although it is a bit expensive at $37 at Sephora (see title link), it makes your face feel upscale as well.
