In this month's issue of Seventeen, a big story was written relating to gambling. Lots of teenage girls are becoming addicted to it, mainly because of its easy accessiblilty. After all, you can play online Poker easily, go to casinos in Canada (lower age limit), and even get a lottery ticket seller to sell you a few tix without having to show an ID. What's this about Miley Cyrus being Seventeen magazine's September 2008 cover girl? They say she's a deep person who cares about her family, friends, and faith. I don't know about you, but I haven't seen very many religious morals come out of her lately (see title link). Here's a 15-year-old trying to act like she's in her 20's. It's not working.

Johnny Martin Juniors

This line has the best dresses. This purple and black one is demure and fun at the same time. I love the green leaf pattern! The Johnny Martin Juniors dress IS $58, though (see title link).

Demi!

Demi Lovato is impossible to dislike. She has an incredible voice (especially considering the fact that she's just 16 and one hundred times better than Vanessa Hudgens or Miley Cyrus). This girl's got singing and acting talents, and she shows them in Camp Rock, where she gest to play Joe Jonas' love interest (jealous?). Her debut album is out today (see title link), and she's been previewing it while on tour with the Jonas Brothers. She's the best friend you wish you had. Too bad that title belongs to Selena Gomez.

Blend that Beauty

This sponge is unique because of its shape, not just its color. The Beauty Blender sponge (see title link) was created by professional makeup artists Rea Ann Silva and Veronica Lorenz, and the curves are supposed to glide easily over the contours of your face. It's suede, so it feels good, too. Perfect for applying foundation, making it seem as if it's not on your skin at all! The problem is that the item costs a whopping $20! My opinion? A sponge is really not worth that kind of money.

Another Maybelline...

Here's another great Maybelline lipstick pick I found...Maybelline New York Moisture Extreme Lipcolor provides amazing color and lasting moisture that is so effective that it feels like a lip balm (see title link). It promises non-feathering and non-bleeding, and even has SPF 15 to protect your lips from the sun's harmful rays. In my opinion, the shade to get is Midnight Red. The price of the item? Just $7!

Maybelline!

This lipstick is completely affordable AND good quality. Maybelline New York Superstay Lipcolor in Ruby is just $10, after all.It's great for a glamorous party in the Big Apple. It didn't cake at all, and lasts up to 18 hours. Plus, it truly feels like a balm. Although it takes a full two minutes to dry, it works quite well if you've got time to do your makeup well. Kira Plastinina, the 16-year-old Russian fashion designer, now has a store in New York City! Each Kira Plastinina's is equipped with a Dylan's Candy Bar, so shoppers can munch on sweets while they shop! Smart, huh? She is a true entrepreneur, that's for sure (see title link).

This cute necklace by Girlprops features kissin' cousins with a bow on a 16" silver chain. It's only $8, and the best part? 17% of its proceeds go directly to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (see title link). What have you got to lose? Only children's risk for cancer.

Belt!

This belt by CutesyGirl is so perfect for girls who are curvy all over. So it's $36, and definitely not worth buying itself, but I'm sure it can be found at Wal-Mart or Target for a third of the price. It's thicker, and the brown makes it a good neutral hue. Check it out (see title link)!

Pay attention to those Akademiks

This skirt is perfect for a casual day on the town. It's elegant but made of denim, so you're not overdressed. It's by Akademiks, and it's $68. Looking for a way to spend that birthday money? This is it. It can be used for slightly dressy occasions and then some autumn days at school. The mini is even better (see title link)!

Beads!

I never thought that I would appreciate any of Paris Hilton's work. Yet there I was gazing at a Macy's dress that glittered with its white satin and bronze, edgy beads. The sleeveless knee-length dress seemed too good to be true. And at $88, it actually was. Yet I had to give Paris Hilton props. She actually designed this dress and it is terrific. I heartily recommend it to anyone who is ready to splurge (see title link).

Unionbay

Unionbay is a great, affordable brand available at most department stores. Although it offers trendy, stylish clothing, it manages to remain fashionable without trying too hard. See, the beauty of the brand is its ability to take simple prints and patterns and combine them with different colors to create a perfect outfit. For example, check out this look (above). The outfit is simple, from the striped shirt to the gray scarf. Yet the girl looks amazing (see title link). This brand is definitely worth it.

RocaWear

RocaWear has revamped their whole line to be more attractive to different people. Anyone can find something there, from preps to punks. They have great bling, too (see title link)! Of course, anything Jay-Z creates MUST be fabulous, right?

Kohl's line, Candie's, is the most fun fashion brand ever. Not only does it have Hayden Panettiere endorsing it, but the line also boasts stylish clothing that is bold without being unwearable. Candie's clothing is glamorous, feminine, and ultra-chic, not to mention affordable (see title link).
