Those uncomfortable (but necessary) topics

I'm going to mention birth control on this blog. Not because it's something I can honestly review, since I'm not on it myself, but because it's something to be aware of as a teen girl. Sex Ed in schools give you a little or lot of information, but it's especially hard to receive gender-specific stuff that's essential for your health. Remember, if you are using a form of contraceptive, wait it out! You might need different methods than your peers, and it's important to test the waters for at least three months (unless, of course, you have awful side effects which should only last three or so weeks. 

Acne Treatment

I've been getting a lot of acne on my face as I get through this last hurdle before finals. Luckily, I can get rid of those scars, my current pimples, and future breakouts with Neutrogena's All-in-1 Acne Control Facial Treatment. Those to-be marks will never even become a reality, with all that salicylic acid. Promises not to overdry. It's gotten great reviews on the website for just $8.49, so let's hope they're worth something!

High-end acne solution - why not just eat an apple?

They say that apples contain a powerful antioxidant called quercetin that can prevent blemishes. So why bother buying expensive acne treatments when you can buy the cheaper, real thing at the grocery store when you need to calm redness and inflammation?

If you really want to buy something that will make you feel good that you're actually "doing" something for your acne, try Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone Acne Solution. The Super Acne Treatment with Green Apple (see title link) costs $50 and is available exclusively at Sephora. It supposedly brightens your skin and prevents future breakouts. It promises to clear up your skin.

Murad (for acne)

Murad's acne products are overpriced but definitely effective with the advertising. Their sleek font make the acne breakout treatment seem pretty sophisticated, so let's hope this Skin Perfecting Lotion really does the trick and actually hydrates and protects. Oil-free and minimizes pores, while soothing your skin and reducing irritation. Problem is, it's $33 (see title link) for 1.7 fl. oz!

Eliminate acne marks

Acne marks can take an eternity to disappear. Luckily, there's Clearasil Ultra Acne + Marks Wash and Mask, which unblocks your pores and fights the formation of acne marks from the beginning. You can use it as a daily cleanser as well, which helps reduce redness on your face. 2% salicylic acid. Costs $7.99 (see title link).

Spot treatment for acne

I don't tend to break out often, but when I do, I use a spot treatment to get rid of the pimples. Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment is the 3rd step of a skincare system, but it's great on its own as well for just $6.99 (see title link). It penetrates pores to clear pores without over-drying skin. Improvements as early as day one.

Neutrogena

Neutrogena SkinClearing Oil-Free Makeup with MicroClear Technology is an amazing resource for my beauty regimen. Not only does it look natural when spread evenly, but it's actually GOOD for your skin. It helps unclog pores and reduce breakouts, because it has an inbuilt blemish treatment with its salicylic acid formula.
