Jordin Sparks is an inspiring person, and she has decided to do her part to
stop cancer by working for
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (see title link). After winning
American Idol, she met Danielle, a leukemia patient, who passed away a few weeks later. Deciding that no child or family should experience that kind of pain and loss, she found Alex's, which started 10 years ago by a 4-year-old girl who sold lemonade to raise money for curing childhood cancer. Charging $0.50/cup, she raised more than $2,000 before tragically passing away herself. The national movement has now raised over $30 million for research and to help families pay their travel expenses during treatment. Jordin performs at Alex's Lemonade events, like the annual Lemon Ball, pictured at left. She
says that the smallest thing like a cup of lemonade can change the world. Help her out! Because that's
why it matters.
