Dream

We all have hopes, aspirations, ambitions, and dreams. Sometimes it takes us longer than necessary to realize, understand, and follow them. Why not share your future with others (see title link)? Let's get inspired together!

Teen Pregnancy

Did you know 3 out of 10 teenage girls in the United States get pregnant at least once before they turn 20? That's one-third (see title link)! It's a scary and disturbing statistic...at a horrible price. The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy is working to fight it....will you help?

Braids!

I tried another new hairstyle yesterday when I had a busy day out on the town. I flipped all of my hair to the right side, took one strand from the crown and braided it down the right side of my head. Then, I put all of my hair into a low ponytail. The effect is simple but elegant (see title link). It's definitely unique. What's better than braids?

Hair Twists

This is a cute hair idea that I came across yesterday. It takes about two minutes to create and voila, you will look more put-together than the others (see title link). According to the official instructions, this look works best with texturizing wax, but I went without and it turned out fine. After air-drying my hair, I just took 2" sections of my hair on either sides of my part, split each section into two equally, and twisted them together. It'd be best if you secured them with elastics, but I didn't have any at the time and they stayed twisted. Run your fingers through your hair to blend it in, and snap! Twists make you the instant beach babe!

Summer Hookup?

Sure, new summer flings are beautiful and romantic...you spend hours replaying moments in your head, savoring the perfection...but don't jump in too fast. You may just end up hurt (see title link).

Adidas Originals

My resolution for the summer is to get in shape. That said, I've been looking at some workout gear (a girl's mind always turns to fashion at one point or another, right?). Well, I saw this at the Adidas Originals store yesterday...It's the Adidas Originals D S Trefoil Firebird Track Top. I chose the Matte Yellow/White (E16492) color, but it comes in 9 different shades. For $65 (name-brand cost!), you get those nice front welt pockets, ribbed cuffs and hem, 100% polyester shiny tricot, and that trefoil zip-puller. Adidas promises quality. That's why it's worth it (see title link).

Watch This!

Nixon Now has a pretty unique line of watches...this particular model, called Vega in the Sinatra shade caught my eye. It's pricey at $60, but the one-size fits all watch has a great stretch band with polycarbonate (see title link). It looks like a bracelet that's cutting-edge and retro.

Too Much Jonas?

I'm a proud subscriber of Seventeen magazine. I used to eagerly check the mailbox at the beginning of each month to find out who the inspiring celebrity on the cover was for each new issue. Then the June issue arrived a few weeks ago. Whose faces were staring at me? The Jonas Brothers! The cover boasted a full-size pull-out poster inside, spanning two pages! What happened to courageous, ambitious women and fascinating interviews? Wasting pages on posters of poster boys? Sure, they have an exciting-enough story, of climbing to the top without those Hollywood connections. According to the article's introduction, they all believe in "living like [they]'re at the bottom, even if [they]'re at the top," the trio is anything but living easy. Private jets, motorcycle and sidecar, thousands of pairs of jeans. Hypocrisy doesn't exactly spell R-O-L-E M-O-D-E-L to me. And the world has already had too much Jonas. They're everywhere! On shirts, camping gear, lunchboxes, etc! What happened to artists working for the music (see title link)? I honestly don't want my money going toward producing a poster so large that I can stare at every stitch in their pants.

Red by Marc Ecko

These sneakers by eckored are HOT. The fact that Vanessa Hudgens is their spokesperson is a little discouraging, but the line speaks for itself. These sneakers manage to be casual and glamorous at the same time. It's called the Chalsie-Prissy Sneaker. There's a vulcanized stripped rubber midsole as well. $49.99 for a pair (see title link)!

Above The Influence

Partnership for a Drug-Free America has created so many creative Above the Influence ads! My personal favorite print ad is one featuring two rats with a package of Rat-X open (see title link). It's too bizarre and funny for words.

Don't be a rat. Stay above the influence of drugs & alcohol.

Beach, Boy, Blake?

Penn Badgley and Blake Lively are one mixed-up Gossip Girl couple. In real-life, they're as simple as can be, jetting off to luxury Mexican beaches and shopping at Barneys together. But that's not the point of this blog post.
They remember to wear sunscreen when facing the blazing sun (see title link)! Penn's helping his lovely gf in this picture (thousands of teenage girls sigh here) Yes, just like you and me, TV stars need to be protected, too. So just remember that when you're trying to tan with your friends next time (I'm sure we all wish we had friends that looked like Penn!)

Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Sure, this isn't a post that particularly applies to teens, but this is an important cause we all should be aware of. At the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (see title link), 85 cents from every dollar you give goes directly to research purposes. We can make a big difference. My family donates something every year. Whose life can you change?

Fitness

Yesterday I worked out for the first time in months. Staying fit is important. Just ask Nicole W, a 16-year-old from Bakersfield, California, who is struggling with her weight (see title link). If she can do it, so can you. She has already lost 25 pounds!

Got2b Hair!

Got2b Styltini After Hours 24 Hour Laminating Shine Hairspray is perfect when you want to make that elegant low pony party style. It's sleek, easy, and classy. If you spritz it all over from the top and then mix it in with your fingers before making that off-center part and making the pony, it'll stay in place for a lot longer. Plus, when you twirl some curls around to create that swept look, it'll hold better (see title link). This spray only costs $6, too.

Sun? Who Cares?

I had 4 graduation parties to go to yesterday, and all of them were outside. I had to protect myself against that 80 degree sun, so I used Neutrogena Ultimate Sport Sunblock Spray SPF 70+. It cost me just $10 at the drugstore (see title link). It's completely waterproof AND sweatproof, so I could go swimming, play badminton, or do anything else I wanted and not have to worry about my skin, since it lasted all day. I didn't have to reapply as often as I do with other sunscreen. Unlike other sprays, it doesn't make you feel greasy, either. Their Helioplex® technology strengthens skin's own defense against UV rays and contains an electrolyte complex to help "nourish and restore skin balance," according to drugstore.com. There's no oil, so it won't cause breakouts by clogging your pores.

Clean, Clear, and Under Control!

Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets are perfect to have in your bag for a day out when you need to look perfect for hours and can't stop sweating. You can use it for the part in your hair, too, in case that gets oily as well. They don't leave behind any residue, either. According to the Clean & Clear website, the sheets change color as you're using them to prove their own effectiveness. The package is slim, compact, and pop-up, for easy access. Although you can purchase them through Clean & Clear directly, they're 20 cents cheaper at drugstores (see title link). So get your $5.29 package today!

Nail Art!

Cina 3D Nail Decals are a great way to spruce up your toes. Obviously, apply the color of nail polish you want first and then apply the decals after it has dried sufficiently after a few minutes. For best results, apply a clear top coat to seal it in, according to celebrity manicurist Elle. These particular decals are pretty flexible and they stick really well for some long-lasting use. They're made of rubber and have hospital-grade adhesive (see title link). Best of all, they're on sale for $1 off online, costing just $3.29.

America's Next Top Model

Has anyone watched America's Next Top Model? I've been told it's on television Wednesdays at 8/7c on the CW network but have never gotten around to watching it (see title link). Cycle 13 is set to begin, I hear?

Forever 21

This Puffed Heart Stone ring from Forever 21 is so quirky and funky...I love it and its $3 price (see title link). The pink is so girly, you'll look like an absolute sweetheart, with a little twist with the polished metal and pressed metal frame. It comes in 3 colors, but this Hot Pink/Silver combination is my personal favorite.

AMI Clubwear

The girliest girl to the roughest tomboy will love these wedges from AMI Clubwear. The shoes are ultra-feminine but have a boyish touch thanks to the cork bottom. The White Peep Toe Ankle Strap Wedge Platform Sandal is inexpensive (formerly $45, it's on sale for $12.99) and is made of faux leather with stiched trimming. Beginning 1" high, the back is 3.75", giving you a nice, lean look (see title link).

It's Swimsuit Season!

What a cute swimsuit! Candie's Eyelet Halter Monokini has this adorable sweetheart neckline with the bow detail to make anyone seem a little more shapely. One of the only swimsuits that can make you seem delicate and girly! The heart-shaped metal accents balance that out, too. The halter strings make it adjustable, and the bra cups are padded for extra support for a small bust. It's on sale right now at Kohl's (see title link) for $39.99...get it quickly!

Op

Op, a WalMart brand, has a brilliant new ad campaign full of hot, young stars; everyone from Solange Knowles to Sophia Bush! Each brings their own distinct style to the photo shoot. This Terry Cover-Up was worn by Solange...perfect for the beach and coming at the low cost of $14.00 at WalMart (see title link)!

N.Y.C. New York Color

N.Y.C. New York Color has a new Smooch Proof Long Wearing Lip Color. I love the two steps included: conditioning color and vitamin-enriched gloss. The Heartbreaker 485A shade is my favorite, but there are 10 shades to choose from! It gives you a dramatic look and really does last 10 hours. My lips dry really easily with lipsticks, but this one keeps them well-moisturized so I don't feel cakey. Depending on the drugstore you buy it from (see title link), it costs anywhere between $3.99 and $4.99, which is still a bargain!

Upload a cool fan video for the Jonas Brothers...they might see it (see title link). Plus, if you're Jonas-obsessed, there's tons of cool chatrooms, pictures, videos, and other extras to check out to be the ultimate fan.

Sally Hansen

Sally Hansen Creme Hair Bleach means that you don't have to undergo painful waxing again. Just lighten that unwanted hair and you look beautiful in no time. The formula contains Aloe Vera and an almond scent, so you SMELL heavenly as well. It's fast and definitely consistent (see title link).

Neutrogena

Neutrogena SkinClearing Oil-Free Makeup with MicroClear Technology is an amazing resource for my beauty regimen. Not only does it look natural when spread evenly, but it's actually GOOD for your skin. It helps unclog pores and reduce breakouts, because it has an inbuilt blemish treatment with its salicylic acid formula. There are 12 different shades, so you can find the one that fits your skin tone (see title link). It's hypoallergenic and keeps your face from looking shiny by reducing the oil.

havaianas

havaianas flip-flops are my absolute favorite. I didn't realize that flip-flops were made in so many different styles and colors, but that's all this brand manufactures. They're high-end, but the variety is pretty amazing (see title link).

Mane 'n Tail

The Original Mane 'n Tail "The Original Conditioner" is an amazing part of my hair-washing routine. I know that my hair is being fortified with proteins and it LOOKS more healthy and lustrous as a result. It claims to make hair longer, too, but I'm not sure if I buy into it. The best part is that you can leave it in or rinse it out, depending on the look you want to go for and your hair texture, of course. It repaired my split ends and definitely stopped some breakage from happening. It contains lots of natural oils, too, for your scalp, and it allegedly also corrects the drying caused by sun and wind. It's non-greasy, too (see title link).

Makeup Tip

A good beauty tip is to wear makeup boldly to highlight the one feature on your face you want to highlight most. Keep the rest of it light (see title link)!

Rebecca Taylor

I found this beautiful white tassle blouse from Rebecca Taylor...it has this elegant look hot off of the Spring 2009 runway (see title link). To perfect your look, dust some translucent powder onto the top and bottom of your eyelids to keep your classy makeup in perfect condition. This top is definitely the definition of chic.
