Styli-Style

Styli-Style Timeless Lipstick Demi-Matte is a budget-friendly way to get those sophisticated, gorgeous red lips, especially if you buy the Matte Rouge shade. For just $7.49, you get a product that feels light on your lips, gives a vibrant, rich color, and ensures definition and elasticity. Its formula even claims to moisturize, refuvenate, and heal lips to the effect of anti-aging, but I'm just sure it looks and feels amazing (see title link)! If you blot your lips between applying 2 coats it'll give you that perfect Hollywood look. Lights, camera, action!

Watercolor Wash
I saw this beauty look in the September 2009 issue of Seventeen magazine. It's called Watercolor Wash, and it combines blues, greens, and violets on your lids to make them look as deep as the blue sea. The effect is absolutely breathtaking (see title link).
Baby Phat
Nothing like a beautiful, collared fur vest to keep you warm this fall! Baby Phat has launched this great piece (I've seen it in dark green which I find easier on the eye, but I couldn't find the picture online). For $115 at Macy's, you get a luxe-looking piece of clothing that's guaranteed to please. Don't worry, it's not real fur (for just $115? are you kidding me?). Faux is the way to go (see title link)!Saturday, September 26, 2009
Rain Boots!
I found a pair of Laila Rowe Rainboots that are absolutely gorgeous for those late September days. The specific model of these boots is called the Shiny Ombre, and it features a gradient from fire-engine red at the bottom to sunny yellow at the top near the calf. They're just $26.25 (see title link) and will turn heads on the sidewalk. Check them out (see title link)!

Pets Attack? Hilarious
I read this ridiculous babysitting nightmare story yesterday, when a babysitter was watching an old woman (whom she'd met at church)'s granddaughter. Shortly therafter, she saw 2 small monkeys in a cage at their home, and they attacked her! She had cuts on her arms and the backs of her head, and the elderly lady blamed HER for provoking them in the first place! What a mess (see title link)! Pets attack!

Soffe
Soffe is often commonly misled as a cheering brand. But here is the list of uses on the Soffe website: twirling, dancing, running, swimming, bike riding, marching, playing softball, baseball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, hanging out at the beach, or even sleeping! They have every style imaginable to fit all your needs. They have men's t-shirts, junior's tops/bottoms, and more! Sold in sporting good stores, department stores, collegiate bookstores, and even military exchanges, globally. My personal favorite is The Varsity Collection (see title link). I used Soffe sweatpants for gym class all the time (borrowing from my friend, of course!) in high school and they left me feeling comfy and ready to go.

Alana Reed
Alana Reed is a celebrity trainer based in New York, NY who is a pilates expert. For those who are not into the whole treadmill thing, pilates is a much more low-key approach to exercising, without toning down the calorie-burning. She's got plenty of high-profile clients, but check out some of her online tips on her website (see title link)!

The Art Institutes
I used to have the common misconception of scorning any postsecondary school which used print advertising in magazines. If a school's good enough, people should already have heard of it, right? Maybe so, but don't underestimate a specialized school that's easy on your bank account. The Art Institutes, a system of over 40 schools which train students for real-world careers in Fashion, Design, Media Arts, and Culinary, has a competition going on called The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition, which earns the winner a full-tuition fashion scholarship (to the Art Institutes, of course!), a tour of Seventeen magazine, a trip to NYC Fashion Week, a $500 shopping spree, and even a lunch with a style professional. Entrants can choose between 2 categories: Fashion Design or Fashion Marketing & Merchandising and Retail Management (see title link). The deadline is November 20th, so hurry!
