One-shoulder bathing suit
I've seen plenty of versions of the monokini, and often feel they're trying too hard. But this one-shoulder side cutout monokini from Charlotte Russe is attention-grabbing while still retaining that bikini feel in some way (see title link). I adore the bright turquoise color, and it's super-affordable on sale for $19.60 (originally $25).

Edgy bling
Some jewelry is cutesy and meant to be beautiful. Some is just meant to be eye-catching. Laruicci's Transformer Claw is of the latter type, boasting clientele such as Beyonce and Emma Roberts. This particular piece costs $78, and is adjustable and plated with 18K gold (see title link). Get your gold ring obsession started now!

Summer concert season

Rihanna's Loud Tour is a must-watch this summer. I love the season of carefreeness and sunshine. Running from June 4-July 24 nationwide, you can catch her performance in your area. She insists on performing all of her electronic-produced hits with a live band, which I really give her props for. Although I'm not sure she's very good at singing live, so S&M might sound a bit painful. uck (see title link). Featuring special guests Cee Lo Green and J. Cole.

Tampons for portability
I've never used tampons, but Tampax Pearl Compak is said to be the best in the business from quite a few sources (see title link). Supposedly great protection and is proven to have the smallest applicator (it's extendable). The compact version literally fits in the palm of your hand. Get a 40-pack for $5.99!
tanda ZAP
A new electronic tool to fight acne. tanda ZAP is a device that is clinically proven to clear blemishes INDIVIDUALLY, so your face will be clear quickly. It costs $49, and the blue light and sonic vibration combine with the gentle warming to keep your pores open and ready for clearing. They promise zero pain and irritation, and no dryness afterward. What's to lose (see title link). Just money, I suppose...

Guy code translation
Steven Ward, host of VH1's Tough Love dishes on what guys really mean when they talk to girls. When he mentions he thought you were hanging out with a girlfriend, he means that he wants you to have different plans from him, because he wants his own plans. It also means he feels bad to leave you out so he doesn't tell you forthright, so perhaps a keeper (see title link)?

Key workout moves
Squat Twists are a great workout move to help work your waist. Just squat, come up, and put your arms up and twist with a ball in your hands. Just make sure to keep your heels on the ground, so your waist has to do all the work (see title link).

Wild hair colors
Classic black

Lauren Conrad got it just right when she wore her L*Space Sensual Solids Twisted Top to a pool party she hosted in Las Vegas (see title link). You can get her look too for just $56, featuring a twisted detail, tie closure at the neck and back, and gold metal strep detail. Black bikini tops are ALWAYS great go-tos. The mineral bronzer looks great on her as well, and she manages to pull it off without looking muddy.

Mousse for thick hair
Worst mousse for thick hair? Probably Garnier. That product lasts for about an hour before transforming your locks into frizz-nation. But Pantene Medium-Thick Flowing Body Mousse can really help to tame your hair while giving it extra shine. If you put it on when your hair is wet and then blow-dry while upside down, it'll become super-touchable to make you look polished. Just $3.99 (see title link).

Self-Tanning the healthy way
Love Kate Somerville's line at Sephora. Her Somerville360 Tanning Towelettes (see title link) fit in your pocket or beach bag so you can make touch-ups on the beach. They cost a hefty $48 for a package of 8, but promise no streaking and even application. Only two to four hours needed. No sulfates, phthalates, GMOs, or triclosan.

Webshows
I don't think online shows have quite caught the trend yet, but Talent is a new show sponsored by CoverGirl, Secret, and Venus. Their prom looks are gorgeous as well. Logen, one of the show's stars, wears an amazing ring that's over-the-top and perfect for prom (see title link).
Epiduo Prom sweepstakes
Epiduo Gel, an acne medication, is holding a Skintastic Sweepstakes for girls going to prom who want clear skin (see title link). Enter ASAP!

Swimsuit time (finally!)
Not a fan of Miley Cyrus, but she definitely makes good swimsuit decisions. Girly swimsuits are totally in right now, and in Mexico Miley rocks this Vitamin A Silver Collection Rio Ruffle Halter and Tieside Bottom (see title link). The suit can be yours for $19.95 per piece! The bright red suit will definitely catch eyes at the beach, but ruffles and dots actually tone it down in a good way, so it looks adorable and not outwardly obnoxious.

Aeropostale jewelry?
I had no idea Aeropostale sold jewelry before. Call me oblivious, but I usually imagine that every one of their items has the store's name on it. The earrings are actually super-cute and budget-friendly (see title link). Check them out!

Obscure? Or hidden gem?
Australia is paradise in my eyes, so perhaps I'm a bit biased here. I had honestly never heard of this brand before, but maybe that's because I never use bronzer. But Australian Gold Spray Gel with Bronzer (SPF 15) gives you both color and protection. For $8.99, you get sunscreen and self-tanner (see title link)!
Makeup that's good for you...
I rarely wear any makeup. But during finals week, I desperately need something to cover up all my stress breakouts! Neutrogena SkinClearing Oil-Free Makeup is a great liquid makeup that helps to fight acne, not just conceal it. Your breakouts will be cleared over time. It helps control shine as well. Costs $11.99 (see title link).

Herbal Essences conditioner
Herbal Essences Touchably Smooth collection does a good job with all its products, but the smoothing hair conditioner is especially worth noting. It protects from humidity, which is definitely necessary as it gets warmer, and includes pink lilies and Asian silk in its formula! Your hair will be soft and clear (see title link).

Gorgeous Lashes
Teen Pregnancy
With the stars of Teen Mom gaining fame and "stardom" with magazine covers and TV interviews, is the stigma of teen pregnancy dying down? Dozens of girls my age are getting pregnant because they want to, not even by accident (see title link). That's the buzz.
