Express

This Wave Cuff Bracelet from Express is a great way to accessorize an outfit without trying too hard. It's simple, yet contemporary. The brushed metal gives you a modern, artistic look, and the sculpted shape is my favorite part. But if you want to look sophisticated in a casual setting, make sure to choose the Hematite shade, as shown here. The others are too glitzy and over-the-top. The only down side? It costs $16.50 (see title link). But make sure to take a peek!

Styli-Style

Styli-Style Timeless Lipstick Demi-Matte is a budget-friendly way to get those sophisticated, gorgeous red lips, especially if you buy the Matte Rouge shade. For just $7.49, you get a product that feels light on your lips, gives a vibrant, rich color, and ensures definition and elasticity. Its formula even claims to moisturize, refuvenate, and heal lips to the effect of anti-aging, but I'm just sure it looks and feels amazing (see title link)! If you blot your lips between applying 2 coats it'll give you that perfect Hollywood look. Lights, camera, action!

Watercolor Wash

I saw this beauty look in the September 2009 issue of Seventeen magazine. It's called Watercolor Wash, and it combines blues, greens, and violets on your lids to make them look as deep as the blue sea. The effect is absolutely breathtaking (see title link).

Baby Phat

Nothing like a beautiful, collared fur vest to keep you warm this fall! Baby Phat has launched this great piece (I've seen it in dark green which I find easier on the eye, but I couldn't find the picture online). For $115 at Macy's, you get a luxe-looking piece of clothing that's guaranteed to please. Don't worry, it's not real fur (for just $115? are you kidding me?). Faux is the way to go (see title link)!

Rain Boots!

I found a pair of Laila Rowe Rainboots that are absolutely gorgeous for those late September days. The specific model of these boots is called the Shiny Ombre, and it features a gradient from fire-engine red at the bottom to sunny yellow at the top near the calf. They're just $26.25 (see title link) and will turn heads on the sidewalk. Check them out (see title link)!

Pets Attack? Hilarious

I read this ridiculous babysitting nightmare story yesterday, when a babysitter was watching an old woman (whom she'd met at church)'s granddaughter. Shortly therafter, she saw 2 small monkeys in a cage at their home, and they attacked her! She had cuts on her arms and the backs of her head, and the elderly lady blamed HER for provoking them in the first place! What a mess (see title link)! Pets attack!

Soffe

Soffe is often commonly misled as a cheering brand. But here is the list of uses on the Soffe website: twirling, dancing, running, swimming, bike riding, marching, playing softball, baseball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, hanging out at the beach, or even sleeping! They have every style imaginable to fit all your needs. They have men's t-shirts, junior's tops/bottoms, and more! Sold in sporting good stores, department stores, collegiate bookstores, and even military exchanges, globally. My personal favorite is The Varsity Collection (see title link). I used Soffe sweatpants for gym class all the time (borrowing from my friend, of course!) in high school and they left me feeling comfy and ready to go.

Strut 'yo stuff

Project Runway is back for a sixth season! Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn steal the television screen once more for what promises to be an exciting season. They've Arrived on Lifetime (see title link)!

Alana Reed

Alana Reed is a celebrity trainer based in New York, NY who is a pilates expert. For those who are not into the whole treadmill thing, pilates is a much more low-key approach to exercising, without toning down the calorie-burning. She's got plenty of high-profile clients, but check out some of her online tips on her website (see title link)!

The Art Institutes

I used to have the common misconception of scorning any postsecondary school which used print advertising in magazines. If a school's good enough, people should already have heard of it, right? Maybe so, but don't underestimate a specialized school that's easy on your bank account. The Art Institutes, a system of over 40 schools which train students for real-world careers in Fashion, Design, Media Arts, and Culinary, has a competition going on called The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition, which earns the winner a full-tuition fashion scholarship (to the Art Institutes, of course!), a tour of Seventeen magazine, a trip to NYC Fashion Week, a $500 shopping spree, and even a lunch with a style professional. Entrants can choose between 2 categories: Fashion Design or Fashion Marketing & Merchandising and Retail Management (see title link). The deadline is November 20th, so hurry!

Dark hair, new makeup?

Scarlett Johansson is a woman to envy. Married to Ryan Reynolds, the face of Mango, and now a singer, too? Wow, that girl has it all.
She recently died her hair a whole lot darker; remember when she was a blonde? Well, her makeup noticeably changed as well. The red lipstick and darker pink blush has really brought out the browns in her hair and prevented her face from being washed out as a result. Take a leaf out of her book and see what happens (see title link)!

Guardian Angel for your hair?

Got 2b Guardian Angel 425F Heat Protect 'n Blow Out Blow Dry Lotion + Gloss Finish gives you a win-win situation to your hair. Let me explain: I don't blow-dry or straighten my hair that often because the high temperatures de-nature hair. But by using this product, I can successfully combat the dryness so that my hair can look good and feel good, too. The dullness and damage will be reversed, and the spray protects your strands and ups the manageability factor. Your scalp will be smooth and flexible and even have a luminous shine as an added bonus! For $5.99 at Rite Aid, what's to lose (see title link)?

On those nights when I'm up till crazy hours studying, I need something to manage my blackheads. Luckily, Clean & Clear Advantage Blackhead Eraser solves ll my problems. It won The Best Breakthrough Product of 2009, which says wonders about its innovation. You attach a disposable medicated pad, wet it, and switch it on! That serum will be vibrated deep into your pores and clear them right up. It also won the insider's choice beauty winner award by CEW, whoever that is. Sweet as a Pastry

Pastry jeans are great skinnies to show off your legs. I usually call these straight-leg, like Macy's does (It's Over Distressed Straight Leg) but the name honestly doesn't matter. Sure, it has the usual belt loops, zip and button, and five pockets. there's that amazing pink contrast topstiching, the Pink Pastry logo at the front fly and back right pocket and, of course, the great whiskering and lightly bleached spots that really turn the heat on. They're pricey ($68) but definitely worth checking out (see title link).

Check out Sun-In's Go for the Glow Contest winner Karen (see title link)! She teaches and volunteers at a local Florida hospital where she lives. Beauty inside and out.

Aero Insider

I was at the mall yesterday, and I always check out what's new at Aeropostale before leaving. Right now they have a great offer called Aero Insider open to anybody: a printable $10 off coupon for every purchase $50 or more. The best part is, you can use as many coupons as you want! The offer ends September 20th, though, so hurry up and get shopping (see title link)!

Converse

Who doesn't need a basic pair of Chuck Taylor All Star Converse Canvas Oxfords (Low, of course!)? One of my teachers in high school told me to save everything because it will be in style 20 years later. She was right; those 80s teens were wearing Chucks, too! For just $45, you can have two of your very own. So what are you waiting for (see title link)?

Oh, and colors are great, but you should have a black pair. I mean, it goes with absolutely ANYTHING.

Life Energy Intelligence

L.e.i. Jeans are a very budget-friendly, stylish alternative to costly, designer jeans. I bought my first pair 6 years ago and am still wearing them at this very moment. They are in almost-perfect condition. With Taylor Swift as their latest spokesmodel, they're sure to be a fashion inspiration to teenage girls everywhere (see title link).

Bongo!

I found these adorable pair of Bongo flats that have a beautiful ruffle twist on them. The teal color looks gorgeous (see title link) and they're just $40!

Blue Dress from Celebrity Pink?

Celebrity Pink came out with this gorgeous Sock Hop Dress in Denim. It costs just $40 (see title link) and features ruffles on both the front AND back bodice, and there's an exposed zipper in black trim on the back as well, adding shape. In my opinion, the denim balances out the girliness of the ruffles.

You Know You Love Me...

This is by far my biggest TV guilty pleasure. Gossip Girl: The Complete Second Season is even better than the first, if that's possible. The 25 episodes come with almost 4 hours of extra footage, and the DVD is fully equipped with an interactive map of the Big Apple, along with an inside look at the show's fashion, unaired scenes, gag reel, webisodes, and even a downloadable audiobook. Featurettes and interactive menus add to the charm of all 810 glorious minutes (see title link). You don't want to miss it!

Carlos by Carlos Santana

Every girl needs a cute pair of boots. These are a costly $151 and are Carlos by Carlos Santana shoes in the Carino variety. They have a leather upper, and the pleating and ruching give an extra contemporary kick. With a 6-inch shaft, smooth lining that's soft for your feet, and a lightly-cushioned insole. There's a dress style midsole and flat traction outsole, and the heel is 2.75". A bit expensive, but not to be overlooked (see title link).

Quick Dry Nail Polish

In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish is an inexpensive way to make your nails look like a million bucks. The 206B East Village shade, shown to the far left, is unique but absolutely stunning (it's on my toes right now!) for just $1.99 (see title link). The formula contains minerals which provides intense shine and some subtle shimmer for that extra depth. You've got nothing to lose, so get some!

Espana (Nope, not Spain)

OPI created a new collection called espana, which features a whole bunch of new shades of nail color. This one, called Bullish on OPI, particularly caught my attention because of its classic hue and amazing OPI quality. The bottle costs $6.20 online (see title link) which is slightly higher than drugstore polishes, but it's well worth it, especially for this exotic new line. Don't miss out!

Skinny 524? What's that?

JCPenney is having a great sale for Levi's jeans right now. The Skinny 524, which is one of my favorites (I have more Levi's in my closet than anything else). These jeans are on sale for just $29.99 instead of the original $48.00. So check it out before the savings end (see title link)!

Mineral Power!

Maybelline New York Mineral Power Powder Foundation is made completely from micro-minerals, making your skin look fully covered and glow with clearness, smoothness, and radiance. It has been tested on sensitive skin and promises not to clog pores. There's no fragrance SPF 18, either. The 100% natural kabuki brush included is great to use, too. You can't resist that natural luminosity it amplifies with the mica, making you look wonderfully refined because of those pure and quality micro-minerals. They are triple-refined through a cold-filtering process that is gentle, making your skin love them even more. Buy this stuff for just $8.29 online (see title link)! Pure Beige is my favorite.

DKNY Jeans

DKNY Jeans is one of my favorite brands to wear. I have a classic black hoodie by that line that I've had since the summer before 8th grade (I'm in college now). Not only does that prove the clothing's durability, but it also shows that every single article of clothing can be worn endlessly without going out of style. Visit the website and get shopping (see title link)!

Nail Art Pen

Sally Hansen came out with these cool Nail Art Pens. It's a fast-drying, portable tool that allows you to create nail designs over any nail color. The fine-tip simplifies precision and control, and the formula is water-based, making it green! Finally, I can make a perfect French manicure or pedicure. But don't worry; this comes in 8 wonderful shades (see title link).
